Prohibited Conduct
Per the Swanton Township Board of Trustees, the following acts are deemed a "public nuisance" and are prohibited within the unincorporated territory of the township:

Amplified Sound
Operating any radio, television, musical instrument, or sound-amplifying equipment in a manner that disturbs the peace of others across property lines.

Vehicle Noise
Excessive noise from engine braking, faulty mufflers, or sound systems that can be heard at a distance of 50 feet or more from the vehicle.

Animals & Pets
Frequent or long-continued noise from domestic animals (barking dogs, etc.) which disturbs the comfort of any person in the vicinity.
Common Exemptions
- Emergency vehicles and warning signals.
- Agricultural operations and machinery.
- Lawn maintenance (7:00 AM - 9:00 PM).
- Activities authorized by the Board.
